Question:

One QandA states On all of the trailer hitches available for the 2011 Volkswagen Golf, the cross tube will be visible beneath the rear fascia on the vehicle. There are no hitches from the manufacturers that we carry that are completely hidden from view. Is this true.

After using the fit guide, we see that there is only one hitch available for your 2010 Volkswagen GTI and the one you're looking at # 24825 will not fit. Even if it did, it would stick out quite a bit but I have one for you that won't.

The Curt Class 1 Round Tube Trailer Hitch has a maximum gross trailer weight: 2,000 lbs and maximum tongue weight: 200 lbs. Even though this has a visible cross tube, it is not super noticeable because it sits a bit back and under the vehicle.

Check out the installation video on a 2010 Volkswagen like yours to see exactly how it will look.

As far as a roof rack goes, the best looking rack in my opinion would be the Inno Aero Crossbars # INXB123-130, Inno Through Feet # INXS250 and the custom fit kit # INK853.

For your roof you could get the etrailer cargo basket # Y07138 which you can make longer if you would want. It's a sporty design so it will go well with your GTI. Wiring would be a good thing to grab too # C59236 and of course a ball mount # C45147
