For your 2015 Volkswagen Golf with gasoline engine we do offer a 1-1/4-inch Class I hitch from Curt Manufacturing. Their light-duty hitch # C11412 fits gas models (except the R version) and installs using included hardware without need for any drilling.

If your plans are for a hitch-mount bike rack you can select one from among the compatible Class I racks shown on the link at right. Please note that you are limited to a 2-bike rack on a Class I hitch, even though the rack itself may have more bike capacity. This has to do with the torsional (twisting) forces applied to the hitch by the loaded rack when you are driving.

The link at right will take you to our main page for all 2-bike Class I hitch racks. You can use the filters on the page to narrow the results by your preferences for rack type, hanging or platform, and by brand, material, etc. The linked articles will help you consider the best rack for your particular bikes and for proper clearance at the back of the car.

If your GTI is rated for towing and this is your plan for the hitch you can order the hitch with a ball mount as part # C114123 includes a standard ball mount without hitch ball in case you care to choose your own with the link provided. For a wiring harness you can use # C59236.
