Are Fat Tire Straps Needed for 3.3 Inch Tires on Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack

Question:
Hello! My eBike has a 3.3” tire. Will it fit in this rack if I get the additional fat straps? I know that your specs say 3.25” max, but will that difference really matter? Thank you!

Even though your tires are just slightly larger at 3.3 inches than the 3.25" the OnRamp is designed to work with, I do recommend adding the Fat Tire Straps for Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack # Y23FR.
The issue is that tires that wide could mean there isn't enough room for the straps to fully latch, so even though you may be able to get them to work with the standard straps, it is a good idea to get the straps just to know for sure your bike is safe and secure. The Fat Tire Straps will work with the OnRamp that fits either a 2 inch or 1-1/4 inch hitch:
- 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch: Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y96FR
- 2" Trailer Hitch: Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y36FR
