Features to know about

Built for Heavy Hauling Confidence: Load Range D with 1,075-lb Capacity

When you’re carrying real weight, you need a tire that won’t flinch. The Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire is Load Range D with an 8-ply rating and a 1,075-lb maximum load at 100 psi. It’s built to exceed Department of Transportation standards, so you can trust it to handle tough loads and long runs without worry.

Smooth Control on Rough Terrain: Bias-Ply Construction That Works with the Ground

This tire’s bias-ply design uses thick nylon cords set at a 30- to 45-degree angle in alternating layers. That crisscross pattern gives the sidewalls extra stiffness so the whole tire can flex evenly. The result is a stable, predictable ride and better handling when traveling over uneven or off-road surfaces.

Sized Right for Reliable Performance: 5.70-8 Fit with 18.0" Diameter

The K353 fits standard 8" x 3-3/4" rims and measures 18.0" in outer diameter with a 5.8" section width when inflated. Those proportions keep your setup balanced and your clearance consistent while maintaining even tread contact for a smooth roll.

Peace of Mind Built In: 5-Year Limited Warranty and 1-Year Worry-Free Guarantee

Kenda backs this tire with a 5-year limited warranty plus a 1-year worry-free guarantee—if it’s damaged for any reason in the first 12 months, it gets replaced at no charge. That kind of coverage makes it easier to hit the road knowing you’re protected from the unexpected.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

This tire is mounted on galvi rim and replaces tires I got 10yrs ago from etrailer. I stepped up one size to make the trailer standup just a bit, and very pleased with the tire.
by:
They are very firm tires strong side walls load range D . Exactly what I wanted thank you.

Ordered two of these tires to replace two that are failing. Like the increased load range on these tires and perform well on the road. However, the two tires I needed to replace were because of loss of a portion of the tread on one of them and an area of extreme wear/cupping on the other tire. Speculate this was because I left the tires on the trailer over the four months of inactivity during winter season and they were sitting on a concrete surface. Lesson learned and will remove them and store indoors this winter

etrailer gets both thumbs up. They carried the high load range tires I could not find locally, priced right, and delivered promptly. I received the entire order correctly and on time. Thanks to their free shipping offer, I was also able to add a trailer light which pushed my order across the threshold for free shipping making it, in essence, a freebie.
I'll definitely go to etrailer first next time.

by:
Great product. Upgraded from B to D's. Wish these came with rims because they're impossible to mount yourself. Tire shop cost $10 per mount though. Already put 300 miles on them and no longer have the worry of overloaded tires. So far so good and arrived on time in perfect condition. Thanks!
by:
These tires are wearing very well. I like the load rating since I occasionally carry things that might be kind of heavy.

The tires have worked out well. Ive had several Kenda tires and they are excellent. I never worry about them.

by:
These tires are very ruggedly built. They carry a load rating of D, and the stout construction is impressive. They are a bit more difficult to mount because of the stiff, rugged construction. So it takes some muscle and some patience if you are using hand tools to mount them. This is a nice upgrade over the tires that were originally installed on my trailer.
by:
I've had nothing but good luck with kenda trailer tires, I don't even bother looking at other brands!
by:
This is the second time I have dealt with etrailer in ordering tires . I have to say the service is outstanding , communication is great delivery time is right on schedule and I will use them again in the future .

The tires are perfect for my application -DW-58 RV platform- with even greater durability, both on and off road, than hoped for. That said, both wheel valve stems leaked and had to be replaced with metal high pressure stems. During the replacement it was discovered both rubber valve stems had cuts from the wheels valve stem hole. PLUS, one of the holes was egg shaped! That wheel has since been recycled at a scrap yard.

by:
Just received them today so this is not a total review but from a service standpoint they are great. Received a quick email from George to let me know they received my order. I wasn't in a hurry for the tires but they got here very quickly. I'll be buying more trailer parts from these folks in the future.
by:
The tires showed up in great shape and mounted perfectly on the old rims. It was an easy ordering and receiving process.
by:
Kurt did a great job, now who ever did the packing needs to be fired. Tires came in a box that was very oversized and the 2 tires were pushed into one end and the tires are pushed in on half the tire. It’s going to be a choir to have mounted and aired up.
by:
One of the two tires blew up while hauling a light load at highway speeds (65mph).
For what I paid for the tires, I was very unhappy and got the royal run-around from the dealer and then passed off to the mfg. and got no joy from them. Save your money and just get HD tires from the big box stores.
by:
I like the tires I purchased from you last year, I always receive great service and products from etrailer.com.

  • Will 5.70-8 Tires Fit The Same Rims as 4.80/4.00-8 Tires
Hi Ralph; 4.80/4.00-8 tires like # AM10002 typically fit 8" x 3-3/4" rims. The same is true for a 5.70-8 tire like the # AM10013. Your main concern will be loss of clearance. Moving to the larger tire size will cause you to lose approximately 1/2" on the inside and 1" of clearance on the top. You want to have at least 2" on the inside and 3" on top for proper clearance. Is there a specific reason you want the larger tire?

  • Availability of Tires That Fit 8" x 3-3/4" Wheels
We do have tires that will fit the Steel Trailer Wheel - 8" x 3-3/4" Rim - 4 on 4 - White # AM20001. You can use either a 4.80/4.00-8 tire or 5.70-8 tire. If you're replacing tires on your trailer I recommend choosing one that matches the size of your current tire. The Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire - 5.70-8 # AM10013 and the Kenda K371 Bias Trailer Tire - 4.80/4.00-8 - Load Range C # AM10004 will both work with this wheel. • What Does 5.70 and 8 Mean On a 5.70-8 Trailer Tire
In regards to a 5.70-8 tire, the 5.70 represents the width of the tire which is 5.7" wide and the 8 represents the diameter of the wheel the tire is designed to fit which is 8" diameter. If you are needing a replacement, the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire is what I recommend and is offered in a load range B part # AM10010, load range c part # AM10012, and load range d part # AM10013. Assuming you have clearance, there are a few other options for tire sizes that will fit an 8" diameter which...

  • Recommended Trailer Tires Size 5.70 x 8 for Highway Speeds
The only 5.70 x 8 sized tire we carry that is a Load Range D is the Kenda K353 # AM10013. It's a bias tire with a maximum capacity of 1,075 at 100 psi. The maximum speed rating on this tire is 65 mph. I don't know what your current tires are rated for but they might say somewhere on the tire's sidewall. You will want to stay within the speed rating. Exceeding it will cause the tire to heat up more than it should which can cause the tire to fail. Radial tires are generally better for...

  • Can 8" Trailer Wheels Be Upgraded to 10" Trailer Wheels and Fit Widthwise
For your application you need to stick with your 8" wheels, otherwise you're looking at tires with a larger width and will likely rub against the trailer frame as you stated. Unfortunately there aren't any 10" wheels with an offset to give you enough clearance. If you're needing to replace your 8" tire then I recommend checking out the Kenda K353 Bias Trailer Tire # AM10013. This is a 5.70-8 size tire with a load range of D (1,075 lbs at 100 psi) and fits 8" x 3-3/4" wheels. Attached...

  • Can a 5.70-8 Tire Replace a 4.80-8 Size Trailer Tire
Yes, a 5.70-8 tire will fit the same rim that a 4.80-8 tire fit. They both are designed to fit 8 inch diameter rims that are 3-3/4 inches wide. The larger tire will end up being 2 inches taller overall so you would end up with 1 inch less of fender clearance vertically. For a tire in this size that would work well you would want the part # AM10013. This is a Load Range D tire with a 1,075 lb capacity at 100 psi. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.

Four of these will have a capacity of 4,300 pounds so they can handle the 3500 pound total of the cart when fully loaded. Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire. This is because trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall to handle more vertical load. • Is Larger 5.70-8 Trailer Tire a Better Option to Replace 4.80-8
A larger trailer tire basically wins in every category like you mentioned. Less rolling resistance, less affected by bumps in road for smoother ride quality, and bearings/hub spins less so in theory less wear and tear. So as long as you have room for a larger size it's a great idea. The difference between the two size of 4.80 and 5.70 is two inches of overall diameter. This translates into one less inch of fender clearance since the diameter of a tire is split on either side of the spindle....
