First thing you need to tow a trailer with your 2015 BWM X5 is a trailer hitch like the Curt # 13077 which is mostly hidden and had more than enough capacity for your trailer. Next for trailer wiring you'd want the part # 119250KIT to provide the 4-way lighting functions. To convert to a 7-way and install a brake controller you'd then want the part # ETBC7 with a brake controller like our Brake EVN # TK63VR which is proportional, reliable, and also priced well.

For a camera setup for the trailer the Furrion Vision S part # FOS43TASF would be a really great choice as it has a great range, installs easily, and is also very reliable.

Then for a weight distribution system with the most advanced sway control the Strait Line kit part # RP66086 would be your best option as well. For a hitch ball then # A-90.

The install of these parts would be best if done by a local mechanic to you with a good reputation. None of the parts require a specialist of any kind as it's very basic for what a standard mechanic would deal with.

You would not need to do any programming at a BMW dealer with any of the products I mentioned.
