Do any of the Trailer Hitches that Fit 2018 Subaru Outback Put More Stress on the Vehicle
Updated 08/10/2020 | Published 08/07/2020 >
Question:
I want to put a trailer hitch on my 2018 Subaru Outback. I read the reviews of these products, they all sound pretty good. BUT, and its a big but, although all of the main contenders for a trailer hitch have good TW and Tow Weight capacity, they warn that the real limitations are from the capacity of the vehicle body/frame-structures to which they attach to withstand tongue and tow weight stresses. Does anyone have info on whether one of these hitches is significantly better or worse in terms of it putting unmanageable stresses on the cars frame/bumber/body-panels?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Of the hitches that fit your 2018 Subaru Outback that you mentioned none of them would put more stress on the frame of the vehicle than the other. The Curt you mentioned part # C13410 is a really great option that I would recommend highly. I attached an install video for this hitch on a similar 2018 Outback as well.
