Question:
Im looking to understand the difference between the Curt C78KR which also seems to be known as model # 13452 and the Curt #13452? There is a 500 lbs towing weight difference but Im not sure what other differences there are. Is one more/less visible than the other when installed?

The difference you mentioned is the key difference between the hitches you referenced for your 2018 Ford Edge. The # C13234 is a much more visible option than the # C78KR which only has the hitch opening visible below the rear bumper. The # C78KR also has a higher towing capacity so it's the hitch I would recommend for your 2018 Ford Edge.
