Troubleshooting Electric Trailer Jack Struggling to Lift Trailer Tongue
Updated 06/18/2020 | Published 06/16/2020 >
Question:
Jack starts working when switch is activated, then stops. When I then crank a few turns manually, it starts working again with the switch. Ideas?

If your electric jack, like part # LC285318, is struggling to lift the tongue of your trailer then you either have it overloaded, you need to check your power source to make sure that it is fully charged, and you need to make sure that your power wire is in good shape. One other thing to note is that if your jack keeps stopping at the same place then the screw on the jack might be messed up. Depending on your trailer jack module you'll either be able to swap that out or you'll have to replace the jack entirely.
Try removing some of the tongue weight from your trailer to see if that helps, and check the power wire for damage as well as your power source to make sure it has a good charge.
If you're still experiencing problems please let me know and I can help you troubleshoot further.
