Hey Johnny, thanks for reaching out!

I highly recommend using the Lippert HD 6500-lbTuson 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor # LC196308 as a replacement for your 8532-07 motor.

According to my research your motor is rated for 5,500 lbs so this motor will be able to handle the job easier, although it's important to note that this won't increase the lift capability of your landing gear itself.

Hello, that one is a little pricey. I’m trying to replace my gear box also. Would this motor also work? LG-142178 and I was looking at this gear box LG-179015

@JohnnyH You can use the Motor # LG-142178 and Gearbox # LG-179015 and it will physically fit, yes. Just know that this has a 5,500 lb weight rating compared to the 6,500 lb rating of the one I recommended.

Hey Jon, I replaced my gear box and motor awhile ago. Now when I try to use my landing gear, it lifts my 5th wheel a little but after a little bit it doesn’t go up unless I manually crank. It sounds like when it gets more weight on the landing gear the teeth or something isn’t grabbing.

@JohnnyH Hmm - usually when that happens, it means either the power supply isn't fully up to where it needs to be, or the internal screw of the landing gear it messed up. I recommend checking out your power supply first since you're able to manually crank the landing gear up.

@JonG meaning the 12volt battery that is in the trailer? That could be bad even though it does this while plugged into a 50amp plug?

@JohnnyH It's possible, yes. The motor on the landing gear pulls power from DC (the batteries) and your 50A plug will basically be powering the batteries back up. So, if you have bad batteries, it can still have an effect and it's worth checking out.

landing gear on my 5th wheel won't raise and sometimes will not lower. Have sheared bolt on follow leg. I have inspected the and lubed the landing gear legs, as well as the gear box. All the gears are in good shape and not broken/missing. I have a new fully charged battery. I'm assuming at this point maybe motor has gone bad. When button is pushed it just clicks and won't raise.

@Randy with that clicking it is probably the relay, could be a wiring or switch issue. I would check those out first before I replaced the motor. With that click the motor probably isn't receiving usable power which is why it isn't working.
