What is Difference Between Stealth and EcoHitch for 2019 Tesla Model 3
Published 05/30/2020 >
Question:
I am trying to compare the Stealth Hitch and EcoHitch options for the Tesla Model 3. The Stealth Hitch is significantly more expensive, but the web site rates it at 300 lbs tongue weight. However, the linked installation instructions say 200 lbs. Can you confirm the actual tongue weight and point out any differences between the two versions?

Expert Reply:
The tongue weight capacity of the Stealth hitch # 391TES317 that fits your 2019 Tesla Model 3 is 200 lbs and the EcoHitch # EH84GR is 300 lbs which also is a confirmed fit. Both of these are great options with the big advantage that when you don't need it you can remove the lower opening completely and it's totally invisible. This is great from an aesthetic point of view as well as for aerodynamics. Your vehicle was designed to be as aerodynamic as possible to maximize mileage which includes having the lower rear fascia as smooth as possible.
