In order to install a Tekonsha Trailer Brake Controller like the Prodigy P3 part # 90195 on a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 you'll need to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3020-P. This will be all that is needed on models with the factory trailer connector.
