Nicely constructed wiring is robust. Only thing I change is the plastic cover and flap to metal.
This product worked at first. Then, my lights on my trailer did not work when they were plugged in as usual. This product is an in bed wiring connector so you don't have to hang your goose-neck light wiring over the tail gate. I traced the problem to the Curt harness. I have since unplugged the Curt harness and hooked up the OEM light harness on the truck. And, subsequently have been hanging my lights over the tailgate and no problems with the trailer lights. (It was the Curt harness not the trailer lights).
I like the simplicity of install with the plug and play wiring harness but the trailer plug itself where are you plug in your trailer is lacking, when trailer plugged in fit is very sloppy and trailer loses connection often, which is very sketchy when towing my 40 foot, 20,000 pound fifth wheel that you rely on the trailer brakes for stopping
Was a very easy install, only hiccup was no right hand signal or brake light. Called trailer's and they clued me on the right side was the brown wire. Worked the ends of the brown wire and found the end that plugs to the truck power was loose, with some pushing it clicked in and now works great. Would definitely recommend this product and etrailer. Bought this to bring my 5th wheel plug into the bed.
Parts just arrived. All in excellent condition. The greatest part is the excellent installation instruction videos available on line. I am beginning the installation of 5th wheel hitch, this wiring harness and a Curt trailer brake controller. The video for the controller showed me where to find the OEM plug which was taped up behind the wiring harness bundle under the dash that would have been impossible to find otherwise. Other companies may have the same parts but etrailer also educates. Absolutely, far and away the best!!
We received the 5th Wheel / Gooseneck harness to work with our existing Dodge Ram 3500 trailer hitch wiring group with no problems. The assembly was installed and tested within 30 minutes and everything worked as it was supposed to. The 7 pole connector wire harness worked great. It was heavy duty and well built. The only thing that could have been better was the plugs. I have a 1999 Dodge truck and the plugs fit perfect however they do not "Clip" in. I had to tape them. Other than that I am pleased.

Very happy with this. I read people saying it was too long but on my 01 short bed dodge it was perfect length to put it in the tailgate post. Wire, plugs and heat shrink all good quality. Only thing really needed is s drill, self tapper bit and a 2-1/8 hole saw. Installation time for me was less than an hour.
Installed in less than hour. Perfect fit. Only negative, too much cable depending on installation location., would be nice to offer a long and short version. Certainly not a functional issue. Recommend this product. Etrailer service was excellent, very much appreciate the videos and accompanying documentation.
This harness makes for a quick and easy installation, I actually have two of these hooked up on my truck, one for the receiver and one ran into the sidewall of the bed for the goose neck. Good quality build with every thing sealed as it should be.
The CURT wiring harness appears to be correct, but I have not installed it yet. I will provide more details after I install this harness. I think that the 7 foot length will be just right for the truck, but I will know more once I install it.
The shipping estimate was perfect and delivered on time. Haven’t had the opportunity to tow with it yet, but the hitch came with minor scratches and small dents due to shipping. Definitely would still recommend.
This product is exactly what it says it is any body can do this on there truck in less than a hour I am very pleased with this product my customer was very happy with it he ain't never used a bed plug before and had bumper plug for his gooseneck he was pleased
The pins on this didn’t like to make contact with my trailer connector. The trailer is brand new. I had to do some tweaking to get it to work right.
I was happy with the transaction with etrailer. The website was very helpful in finding what I needed. The product was received ahead of the committed date. The only problem was with the packaging. Some of the boxes were pretty beat-up and the parts were scratched with the finish damaged. That was a little disappointing.

I have not had a chance to install this product yet I have only compared the two harness for likeness, but it looks like it will be a direct plug and play into my 2008 dodge 2500 just as stated. The wires used look to be of good quality and it’s all nicely wrapped and taped in wire loom.
I have a 05 ram 2500 and the gooseneck harness was easy to install and plugged right into the factory harness. Thank you.
