Haven't installed yet, but order process, tracking were excellent.
Will certainly shop with you as need arises.

by:

Excellent customer service and very fast shipping. Ordered on Monday evening and received the package Wednesday. These folks are great to do business with.

by:

Little details make the differenc!I bought this product for future (1 month) installation in an used van that I purchased. I received the product in a fantastically short period of time. I am very impressed with the quality of the workmanship and materials.

by:

Easy to install (two screws to mount it and two nuts for the wire connectors), well labeled for which wire goes where, and works well. Much nice than a fuse, and essential when protecting a trailer brake circuit!

by:

Works great. You definitely want to use this and not a fuse for a trailer brake controller. If an intermittent short blows a fuse, you will lose your trailer brakes. This circuit brakes auto resets so your trailer brakes won't be lost.

by:

Ordered two curt venturer brake controllers, after calling a local trailer shop that wanted $370-$400 dollars to install them I figured I'd do it myself. After watching videos from etrailer and youtube I installed one in my 2003 Ford Ranger and one in my wife's 2101 Town and Country. Everything was pretty much straight forward, just take your time and follow the video's. Very happy and saved hundred's by doing it myself. Here are some pictures of the two vehicles.

by:

Missing a nut on the breaker not a big deal but I have to drive to town to find a replacement

by:

Products work as expected. The availability and quick delivery were excellent.

by:

Perfect connector for what I was looking for on my 2019 RAV4. I originally installed it with the L bracket, but later changed it to be flush in the bumper. Looks very clean. The prefab pigtail made install into the car very easy as well.

by:

As described

by:

Excellent quality and strength. Why skimp on something as important as your hitch? I have purchased three of these Draw Tites - I guess a repeat customer will scream about the true quality a company can garner from repeat customers. When you pull show cars worth six figures, you can't afford a poorly made hitch.
Step up, step out, and don't fret what you are pulling.

by:

Ordered a brake controller and an inline circuit breaker. Very happy with both but not the shipping. I selected the least expensive (my bad) shipping because I didn't need it for a few days. I opted for the UPS/US Mail combination shipping, what ever that is. Product shipped same day as I ordered it (Feb 11th) with an expected delivery date of Feb. 15th. Finally showed up on the 20th. I ordered a hitch earlier and in 2 days I had it. A 49lb hitch vs. a pound (maybe) package. Not etrailers fault...but I can see why the post office is going broke with service like that!

by:

Bought several trailer products for our 2013 Explorer, Tekonsha trailer brake, trailer hitch & wiring materials. Excellent fit on the trailer hitch. Shipping timely & well packaged.

by:

Installed the Hopkins InSight brake controller in a 2015 Wrangler Unlimited. Installation was straightforward with no problems. The biggest plus with this unit is the ability to mount the "brain" out of sight and mount the display and the manual control in separate, convenient locations. Very nice. Also ordered a 20A breaker, extra wire and an extra harness connector (for another vehicle). All items arrived on time and well packaged. etrailer gets a big thumbs up!

by:

Easy to install. Copper terminal goes to battery. FYI

by:

Just what the etrailer video showed to add a Tekonsha Primus IQ trailer brake controller to a Chevy Silverado. ( I could have used a bracket as well ). Super fast shipping!

by:

Fast shipping well packed nice compact unit. Works well.

  • Brake Controller Installation on 2008 Chevy Trailblazer
The orange wire found under the dash that would provide power to the brake controller is already circuit protected, so you would not need an additional circuit breaker like the # 9506P you referred to. The wiring connections would be made as follows: Orange tow pkg wire connects to black wire on controller Dark blue tow pkg wire connects to blue wire on controller Light blue tow pkg wire connects to the red controller wire Black tow pkg wire connects to the white brake controller wire The...

  • Can 2006 Ford F-350 with Integrated Brake Controller be Bypassed with Aftermarket
I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he stated that there are two ways that you can install an aftermarket brake controller in a 2006 Ford F-350 with an integrated brake controller. The first way is to hardwire in the controller. The white wire goes to the negative battery terminal, the black wire to the positive battery terminal via a 20 or 30 amp circuit breaker, # 9506P. The red wire connects to the circuit on the brake switch that shows a signal on a circuit tester like, # PTW2993,...

  • What Size Circuit Breakers Can be Used on a Trailer for Electric Jack and Brake Functions
If those circuit breakers are indeed for the jack and the trailer brakes then they are likely redundant since the 12 volt circuit and brake circuit are already circuit protected on the vehicle side. Electric trailer jacks also usually have an internal circuit breaker and/or in line fuse. If you want to replace them you can. If you can verify what they go to as the jack and brakes then jack the specs on the jack to determine its amperage draw. Usually electric jacks on trailers are rated...

Hey Ken. You'll want to use a 20 amp circuit breaker like item # 9506P when installing an emergency Trailer Breakaway Kit like item # 50-85-313. You do not want to use a fuse. Your vehicle's brake controller should already have one installed. You certainly can! Installing a brake controller is fairly easy if you are familiar with running wiring. To install a brake controller like the popular Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 you will need to run the wires on the pigtail to the following functions: Black - 12V Power White - Ground Blue - Brake Controller Pin on 7-Way Red - COLD Side of the Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when you brake pedal is pressed) You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to find the cold side of your...

Depending on your vehicle year make and model, I will be able to provide instructions for wiring the Tekonsha Voyager brake controller. I have included the instructions for the Voyager, an FAQ article that features a basic diagram near the middle of the document, and an article on wiring a brake controller from scratch. If the dealership is installing the 7 pole connector, this controller doesn't require any additional wires to be ran inside the vehicle. Your cell phone is used as the controller. If the dealership only connected the wires for the light functions, the only thing that may need to be done is the power wire from the 7 pole may need to be extended to the battery. Electric brake controllers work well on vehicles with air brakes like your Kenworth dump truck. The procedure for installing a brake controller in your van will depend on what (if any) trailer connector is on the vehicle. If the van has the factory installed 7-way or 4-way connector, there will be a port under the dash for installing a brake controller. You will need the brake controller wiring adapter, part # 3035-S. • Does the Power Wire for a Brake Controller Need to Be Ran Directly to the Battery
To answer your first question, it is possible to splice the brake controller's 12 volt power wire into the 12 volt power wire you have attached to the vehicle's battery to charge the trailer's battery but this is certainly not recommend. • What Size Fuse or Circuit Breaker Should be Used for Brake Controller on a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado
The reason you would not want to install a 30 amp fuse or circuit breaker in a 4 brake magnet application, when installing a Prodigy P2 brake controller, # 90885, is that the extra amperage required to break the circuit could cause an issue with the wiring on the trailer or vehicle because it would take longer for the circuit to spike to 30 amps. In applications with 6 to 8 brake magnets or more, more amperage is required to activate the brakes properly so the time for the amperage spike...

Are you using a Wiring Adapter, such as our part number3035-P, or is the controller hardwired into the vehicle? I would begin by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to check the black wire at the rear of the controller to make sure there is voltage reaching the controller. If not, the fuses that manage your towing circuits are not in the main fuse box, they are located in the engine compartment. Your owner's manual should mention the specific fuse to check.
