What Weight Capacity Jack Should I use on my 24 Foot Pontoon Boat

Question:
I am looking for a trailer jack for my 24 ft pontoon. I would like a bolt on, swing away. Not sure what weight capacity I need. Can you help?

There is a wide range of weights when it comes to 24 foot pontoon boats. They can weigh anywhere from 2200 lbs. up to 4000ish pounds. Meaning maybe 800-1000 lbs of tongue weight. With that said the jack only needs to take care of a little more than the tongue weight really. I always go overboard on the weight needed because it will last longer simply because it isn't working at its capacity.
The Dutton-Lainson Round Swivel Jack w/ 2" Wide Wheel part # DL22210 that you looked at is not a bad choice. I like the 8" swivel wheel that will easily roll over some minor debris on the ground that a smaller wheel may hang on. It is designed to fit a trailer frame of 3"-5" in height so if your trailer matches that you will be set.
