Question:
Hi, I am removing the brake drum assembly from my 19 foot boat trailer and want to install a standard hub kit. How do I figure out what my axle is rated for and what the taper is so i get the right part?

I would be happy to help!
What you will need to do is go ahead and remove on of the hub assemblies from your 18' boat trailer and look for the bearing number stamped in the face of each the inner and outer bearings as shown in the included picture of the # L44649.
If the bearings on your trailer are worn to the point that you cannot read the bearing numbers you will need to use digital calipers # PTW80157 to preciesly measure your spindles in the locations shown in the included diagram.
If you can provide the above information I would be happy to recommend the correct idler hub assembly for you.
Lastly keep in mind that depending on the weight of your trailer when it is loaded with your boat, you may legally be required to keep brakes. I recommend checking with your local DOT to make sure you will not run into legal issue by remove the trailer brakes.
