Since a 4 way connection does not provide you with the capabilities to control the trailer's brakes, you would need to convert your boat's 4 way connector into a 7 way using something like the Epicord # 277-000143. In order to make wiring a bit easier and more organized, I also recommend using a Junction Box like the # 38656 so that you can connect all of the trailer wires to the box and then neatly wire the Epicord to the box. This will help ensure that all of your wiring is cleanly installed and avoid having to splice wires together and store them on the trailer frame.

You may also need some 10 gauge # 10-1-1 or 12 gauge # 12-1-1 wire, which is sold by the foot, as well as some heat shrink butt connectors # DW05745-5 to complete your wiring. If you need to wire the brakes you'll want to use the # 12-2-1.

If you don't already have one in your vehicle, you will also need a brake controller to control the brakes on your trailer. I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 because of the reliability and ease of use of the Tekonsha controllers. If you can tell me what your tow vehicle is I can help you locate the correct adapter plug that will allow you to plug and play the brake controller and allow you to easily install it on your vehicle.

I need all of the parts you've described. I have a 2015 Silverado LTZ 4 door crew cab 1500. I prefer the brake control that uses an app controlled with my iphone. My neighbor has one, I like it.

Thank you for the additional information! In order to control the brakes, since you'd like a wireless brake controller that is controlled by your smart phone, you want to use the Curt Echo Mobile Wireless Brake Controller # C51180. This will plug into the 7 way connector on your 2015 Chevy Silverado and then your new Epicord 7 way on your trailer will plug into that; this unit will then provide you with a wireless brake controller for your trailer that will allow you to control everything from your Bluetooth enabled smart phone. The Curt Echo does require that your smartphone be running iOS 8.0 or newer, or Android 4.4 or newer in order to download the app that controls everything, but this is exactly what you're looking for.
