Can Curt Echo Brake Controller be Installed in Any Orientation

Question:

Hi, Does the part need to be balanced and pointing a certain direction ? I figured since it needs to feel the gyro inside it can not be say mounted side ways or vertical correct?

The Curt Echo brake controller, part # C51180, can actually be installed in any orientation. It has a triple-axis accelorameter which allows it to send the direction of travel at any angle unlike traditional brake controllers installed in the cab.

I've linked a video from when we used the Echo on a 4Runner with a 7-way that's kind of in an odd location which puts the Echo at an angle. It's not too dramatic but it still shows the Echo working in a 7-way that's not straight from the bumper.
