Question:
I just received the Curt 45036 ball and mount that I ordered, and I wanted to reverse the orientation of the ball to get the 3/4inch rise rather than the pre-installed 2inch . I have a crescent wrench large enough for the bolt, but I cant seem to budge it installed mount into hitch and was rocking the truck. Any hints on how to get the ball loose from the mount? If theres no trick to try, is there a local shop in Arlington, TX that you can recommend to reverse the ball for me?

You will need to use a cheater bar on the end of the wrench to get enough leverage to loosen the nut on the ball on ball mount # C45036. Chances are the crescent wrench has a wide and flat handle so you will likely need to go to a hardware store to get a steel pipe wide enough to fit on the end of the handle. It probably doesn't have to be too long, 2 feet.
I once had trouble with a lug nut on a car and the only thing I had on hand was a very long piece of chain link fence post and it took almost no effort to loosen that nut.
Or you could use a big wrench such as # C20001 which is 15 inches long and should provide enough leverage. No need to have it done professionally.
