controller, the 7 pin connection on my 4runner is mounted behind the bumper and to the side of the hitch. Angled at a downward, diagonal pitch, will the work with the 3 directional operation of the Echo Thank you

Curt confirmed the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 will work mounted in the vertical position for your 2022 Toyota 4Runner. Just be aware that road debris has a higher chance of contacting the unit mounted in that position, but it will still work.
