Question:
Does the 7 pin connector have to point to the ground? I would like to use a Curt wireless brake controller. I think it would work much better with the 7 pin connector pointing toward the trailer. Im using a Volvo XC60. Thanks.

With the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # SH87FRT you do not have to attach the 7-way to the receiver in the vertical orientation. The kit was designed this way as it would allow for the receiver and 7-way to be completely hidden when not in use. You can use the included mounting bracket to fasten it in a horizontal position if you would prefer on your 2018 Volvo XC60.
The Curt Echo # C51180 can be used in the vertical mounting position but it will most likely not work for ground clearance on your Volvo.
To keep the 7-way hidden and still use a wireless brake controller we do have the Autowbrake Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # 3430001 that will attach to the trailer. This also includes a wireless controller that you can use rather than having to rely on your smartphone.
