Question:
Recently I got a used trailer. As im fixing it up Ive found I need brake shoes on 1 axle. It has Dexter axles. But how do I determine what brand brakes may be on it now? Ive seen Dexter,Redline,TruRyde . Are these all interchangeable ? The right has a tag I can still read. 023-027-00 RIGHT HAND 6270 040502 This is all I have to go on.

The best option we have for you are new braking assemblies, the Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35-SA for Self-Adjusting or part # AKEBRK-35 for Manual-Adjusting. That said, we don't have the replacement brake shoes you are after but the above option will actually be more cost effective than just replacing the braking assemblies. I would say that 9/10 customer replace the entire braking assemblies when the shoes wear out as the magnets could go soon after.
In regards to compatibility, the shoes are brand specific but you can switch between brands for the braking assemblies no problem.
