Question:
I read the experts advise I I do see a solution. The one mistake in connection is that it is not a swing door but a lift door. Is the solution the same. What single bike bike rack would you recommend for this application. Thank you so much.

Thank you for all of the info and the picture!
Normally when the hatch on a vehicle doesn't allow the hooks to properly secure you would just use an anchor type system like the Hollywood Racks part # HR44FR. These would sit inside the rear hatch area and would essentially pull against the door to hold the rack in place.
I checked with all of our manufacturers and none of them list a fit for a 2006 Honda CR-V. So even if you were able to use anchors I'm not sure if a Thule bike rack, like the Gateway Pro # TH78VR would actually work. Fortunately we do have other solutions for you.
What you can do instead is install a trailer hitch like the Curt # 13535 and then use a hitch mount 3-bike rack. A cost-effective hanging style option would be the Saris Bones # SA883. I have attached a video of the rack that you can check out to get a better idea of what the bike rack is like.
