Question:
The instructions are horrible. What does 6- install the fuse holder as close as possible to the positive terminal mean? The fuse holder is coming out of the bottom of the head of the jack. I then connect the single black wire to the positive terminal of my batterys and nothing. What am I doing wrong?

We can get this problem handled. When installing the etrailer Electric Jack w/ Footplate part # EJ-3520-BBX you do want the black wire to be ran to the positive terminal on your battery. The fuse holder is now installed closer to the motor than where it was in the past so you don't have to wire it in. I do agree the instructions need updating. The biggest thing is getting the jack grounded properly to the trailer at the base where it attaches to the trailer. Be sure to clean the surface of any rust or dirt that might keep it from making a good connection and it should be up and running without issue.
I included the video I made on it and its installation for you to reference below.
