The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13422 can tow 6,000 lbs gross towing weight without the use of a weight distribution system. It can handle 10,000 lbs with the use of a weight distribution system on the trailer. I believe you are saying your vehicle can tow 6,000 lbs but you wouldn't want to max out the vehicle's towing capacity or exceed it. If your gross trailer weight is 2,000 lbs like you mention then this hitch will work well for you. The Curt hitch fits the following vehicles:
2003 - 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche
2003 - 2006 Cadillac Escalade
2003 - 2006 Cadillac Escalade EXT
2003 - 2006 Chevrolet Suburban
2003 - 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe
2003 - 2006 GMC Yukon
2003 - 2006 GMC Yukon XL
