Question:
My step extends until fully out and then does a little vibration for about 2 to 3 seconds, then stops. Is there a stop switch that could be dirty or greasy or out of adjustment?

It could be that your Kwikee Series 42 Steps # LC372779 are just hanging up and bit and could use some lubricating spray on the gears; you'll want to use a dry silicone spray on these parts similar to the Roadmaster Lube Master # RM-747 to keep everything in working order.
With that being said, this is also a sign that the motor on your Kwikee Series 42 steps could be weakening, so you'll want to keep an eye on this going forward. If it ends up that the motor goes out on your steps and they stop working completely, you can replace the motor. You'll want to verify which motor you have on your steps but the Replacement Motor for Kwikee 42 Series steps # LC379167 is the most likely replacement motor.
If the dry lubricant doesn't seem to do the trick and you can verify for me which motor you've got on your Kwikee steps, I can confirm which parts you can use as their direct replacement.
