Here is what your 1996 F-150 will need, depending on what you have:

No Factory Connector:
- 4-Flat Trailer Connector # 118316
- Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7

Factory 4-Flat:
- Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185
