Expert Reply:
I recommend using the Pollack Replacement 7-Way Trailer Connector Socket, # PK11893, and the 4ft Pigtail Wiring Harness, # PK11998. The screw holes for the 7-way socket are 2-1/2 inches x 1-3/4 inches, which match your specification.
I have attached a photo showing the screw hole dimensions as well as the overall dimensions for you. This socket does not come with the installation hardware.
