Basically you fill up the hub as much as you can through the hole in the cap like the part # RG04-300 and once the oil level is at the bottom of the cap hole it's as full as it needs to be.

Yes, the number 42 spindle is the standard for Dexter 7k axles like what you have. For that we have the part #TRU57FR which does not have a brake flange or we have the part #TRU37FR which does have the brake flange.
