1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Americana 14-inch by 6-inch galvanized spoke steel trailer wheel with the five on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. Now this is a sturdy steel construction. It is an eight-spoke design wheel. This one does have a galvanized finish to it and the galvanized finish provides secure protection from rust and corrosion. And it's great for marine applications where the boat or maybe a boat trailer might be going into salt water a lot.
The galvanization helps protect the wheel. This is a high-quality wheel. Does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. If you notice the center cap is not included. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately.
You do wanna get a center cap that has the same diameter as this pilot hole. 'Cause when you install the center cap, it will go through this hole. Pilot hole diameter here is 3.19-inches. A few dimensions on this wheel that we're gonna measure is gonna be the diameter and the width. And when you measure the diameter on the wheel, what you're measuring is inside to inside.
And the reason that is, is right here is where your tire beads will seat on the rim. So what you're measuring is the diameter is bead seat to bead seat. So if we take our tape measure and if we go inside to inside, there's your 14-inch diameter. And if we do the width, it's the same way, it's gonna inside the inside or bead seat to bead seat. 6-inches wide.
Now the bolt pattern on this wheel is a five on 4-1/2-inch inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that bolt pattern on a wheel like this, that's an odd number of lugs. In this case, five. What you'll do is pick any one of the holes, let's say this one, and then you're gonna measure across to either one of these holes. But when you measure, it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the hole that you measure to. So on this one, we'll measure 4-1/2-inches. So it's a five on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern. It does use a wheel like size of a 1/2-inch by 20, and the weight capacity on this wheel is 1,870 pounds. That should do it for a look at the Americana 14-inch by 6-inch galvanized spoke steel trailer wheel with the five on 4-1/2-inch bolt pattern.

I can not say one bad thing about the product. We recently trailer-ed the boat to Tennessee and back which is 675 miles one way and we went through the mountains. Tires and rims did everything we expected them too and we would recommend them to anyone. We have a 21 foot Stratos fish and ski with a 200 hp outboard which weighs in over 2000 lbs plus the trailer. I wish I wouldve ordered all 3 tires at the same time instead of ordering the spare at a later time. When we need another set of tires or rims well be back to your website.Thank you

These rims are excellent. They have been in and out of salt water several dozen times, and still look brand new. I rinse the rims off with fresh water after each use which if you do not, they will dull a little bit, however, these rims are the truest, finest rims I have ever bought. I have recommended them to over fifty of my friends. Buy them, you will not be disappointed, also, these high quality rims are reasonably priced you can not go wrong. Fantastic product.
