Im looking for an outdoor hoist system to lift my truck canopy off so I can install my camper?

The type of winch to use for safely lifting your truck canopy is a worm gear winch. Worm gear winches are more powerful than ones that use planetary gears and with a worm gear winch the weight of the load cannot reverse the direction of pull.
If you want an overhead mount we offer the 1500-lb Dutton-Lainson # DL10954 which includes a loop drive. You can use this with 50-foot cable # DL24104.
