Question:

I am somewhat scared that if I install as per instructions and it doesnt work ..will this in any way harm my electric circuitry of my car and likely void my warranty..I just want to make sure that my systems wont be harmed its ok that it may not work but dont want to damage and have more expense fixing at the shop rate of VW..mine is a new :2019 Tiguan S model 2wd..thanks

If you are concerned with keeping the OEM wiring safe on your 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan then the Curt T-Connector # C56403 that you are looking at is actually the perfect solution! Yes it does tee in with the tail lights on your Tiguan but those basically just act as triggers. Since this wiring harness draws power directly from the battery on your VW and it uses an integrated module (the black box) so if anything were to become damaged from your trailer the ModuLite would stop it. The only way that your warranty would be voided is if something you installed actually causes damage (per the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act). Since this wiring kit is designed to protect your vehicle wiring you are good to go!

I have attached an installation video of this kit on a 2018 Tiguan that you can reference. If you don't already have a trailer hitch installed on your Tiguan then I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT53GR because it gives you a clean looking Class III trailer hitch with a 2" receiver (which is compatible with more accessories than a 1-1/4" receiver) plus it has an integrated mounting bracket that you can use with part # 18144 to make your 4-Way connector easily accessible right by your trailer hitch receiver.
