Question:

Looking at the BX88312 for my RAM, but another tried one, but did not work. As you can see in my photo, there is not much room between the top of the receiver and the bumper and the 2inch sleeve collar fits tight up to the 2-1/2 collar. Also the BX88312 interferes with the safety chain connection points. Can you recommend another device that will work on a RAM?

I do have an option for you but the Blue Ox Hitch Receiver Immobilizer III part # BX88312 is the only device we have that will stabilize the reducer sleeve. If this will not work for you due to the position of the safety chain loops then the only other option, I would have is a wedge for the 2" shank, the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp part # GY88XR. Unfortunately, we would not have anything to help stabilize the 2-1/2" to 2" sleeve inside the receiver tube.

The best option we have for you would be to just use the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4900 as this would then eliminate the need for an adapter so you don't have to worry about any movement inside the receiver tube.
