How to Install Tekonsha Pigtail Wiring for Brake Controller on a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan

I have a Tekonsha pigtail plug to install in readiness for the module controller obtained from local trailer service and sales business. The black and blue wires are 12 AWG and the red and white are 16 AWG on the pigtail. Your diagram indicates to make the black and white 12AWG to them/controller. I have a 2 wire jacketed wire from 7-way to front of vehicle with black and blue wires of 12 AWG. I can get 12 AWG white if needed. I have 14 AWG right now. The lesser point is the 16 AWG for white on the Tekonsha pigtail. Suggestions, concerns, advice, etc particularly on white wire. When installing wiring for a 7-Way on your 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, like the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7, it's less about the color wiring and more about what functions they are connected to in regards to the AWG. For example, the black and blue wires that come on this connector are actually 10 gauge instead of 12 gauge like what you have. You can definitely use 12 gauge wire but we just prefer to use the larger size for the brake controller and 12V power functions.

The white wire on the Tekonsha Pigtail # 20127 should actually be connected directly to ground and not connected to any of the wires going to the 7-Way on your Grand Caravan. In fact, the only wire that goes directly to the vehicle side 7-Way is the blue wire. The black wire needs to be connected directly to the positive post on your vehicle battery (through a 20/30 amp circuit breaker) while the red wire needs to connect to the cold side of your stop light switch.

I have attached the installation instructions for the ETBC7 kit along with a wiring diagram we use for the instructions that you can reference. We also have an installation video of the ETBC7 kit and the Tekonsha PowerTrac # 39523 with the 20127 pigtail that you can use as a guide for your installation.
