Question:

Will this part fit into the knock out panel I have a blank one on my 2025 Subaru outback touring xt?

Hey Mark, thanks for reaching out! The # 331-TPSI-001 mounting panel is a universal-fit part rather than a custom-fit replacement for the blank switch panel in your 2025 Subaru Outback Touring XT. It measures 1-1/4" tall x 1" wide, so you'll want to compare those dimensions to your existing knockout opening to see if it'll fit.

Or feel free to send me the dimensions of your knock out opening and I can see if we have a mounting panel that matches up.

This was my 1st (rookie with some basic skills) attempt at installing the Redac plug n play trailer brake controller! My vehicle is a 2023 Toyota Tacoma V/6 4x4 auto transmission! I was really surprised at not only the simplicity of the install, but the outcome! The only real challenge was the universal cover that went into the dash knockout that I removed! I had to do a little trimming on my Toyota dash (universal panel was a little larger than the factory knockout panel) in order for the universal plug to cover the hole! I used a very small amount of Gorilla clear cement to hold the universal plug in place! I would not hesitate to install another Redac in the future!

@RayH Thanks for sharing, Ray! Glad to hear your first brake controller install went so smoothly! Sounds like you handled that little dash modification like a pro. I appreciate the feedback and hope the Redarc serves you well!

Just drill a hole in the knock out and mount to the factory plastic. Looks tidy and there is no comparability issue. Center punch a mark where you want it, pre drill with a 1/8” bit chase with a step bit. Easy and looks factory
