Question:
Hello will this hitch work for my 2014 Lexus RX 350? I noticed it says its for a VW. My mechanic said to get the kind that will hang below the bumper so that we dont have to cut into it. Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Euro Drawbar - 1-7/8inch Ball - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4inch - C114121

We do have exactly what you need, however the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C114121 that you referenced will not fit your 2014 Lexus RX 350. As you mentioned this particular hitch is designed for certain model years of the VW Golf so it won't line up with the frame on your Lexus.
There are two trailer hitches available for your 2014 Lexus RX 350 (as long as you don't have the F Sport model); the Draw-Tite Class III # 75676 and the Curt Class III # C13143. The Curt hitch requires that you trim the bumper fascia to allow room for the receiver while the Draw-Tite model gives you the choice of either trimming the plastic air deflector so it can be put back in place with the hitch mounted or simply leaving it off altogether.
Because it allows you the option of not having to trim the fascia I recommend going with the Draw-Tite # 75676. It will use existing holes in the Lexus' frame for a no-drill installation and will provide you with a nice clean appearance (see attached image). It has a 4,000 pound towing weight capacity and a 400 pound tongue weight limit.
I have also attached an installation video on the 2014 Lexus RX 350 along with the written instructions manual that you can show your mechanic beforehand.
