Question:
Our company 2004 tahoe was rear ended in a minor collision. We now have found that the left brake/turn signal does not work. After troubleshooting what first was just a blown fuse, I found that the green wire was making intermittant contact. The factory truck side of the harness must have been damaged in the accident. It probably was pinched in between the spare tire. There is no outward sign of damage to the plug. Can I cut off the factory harness plug and substitute Part # PK11998 or can you suggest another fix.

I would recommend you cut off your factory 7-way and wire in a Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket w/ Wiring Harness # PK11898. This comes with a new 7-way also, unlike the # PK11998 that you referenced that only has the harness.
I attached a picture of a 7-way with all of the different ports of the 7-way labeled to help you wire it up.
If you have the OEM tow package connector I would recommend the Pollak 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975 as a replacement. If you need the connector and the wiring harness I would recommend you get part # HM40975-11998.
