Parts Needed to Use Prodigy P2 Brake Controller in 2004 Toyota Tundra and 2011 Chevrolet Silverado

Im interested in the prodigy P2 brake controller. Since it can be taken out and put in another vehicle, I would like to buy everything I need to install it in 2 vehicles. First truck is a 2004 Tundra SR4 4x4 access cab with the tow package. The second is a 2011 Silverado 1500 single cab long bed. I believe I just need the controller and each individual harnesses correct? Thanks

In the 2004 Toyota Tundra it is that easy since you have the tow package. You'll need the Prodigy P2 # 90885 and the wiring harness # 3040-P that plugs into the connector under the dash. I've linked a video of the install.
The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 requires a little more but still not too much. Whether you have the tow package or not there isn't a connector under the dash. But the wiring is already there to hardwire in the P2. Use a circuit tester, # PTW2993, to test each wire for function to perform the install. This video is linked as well as a help article.
If they Chevy doesn't have the tow package the wiring will still be there for the brake controller, but you'll need a 7-way trailer connector on the rear of the truck. For this you need # 30955 if your truck has a round connector that is capped off. If instead you find a bundle of wires you need to hardwire in # PK11898, also by function using the circuit tester.
You also may want a second bracket # P7685 or the mounting pocket # 7686 to make it easier to move from one truck to another.
