Great Product! Easy to plug direct to G.M. OEM harness. The only problem I have is the 4 attach hole pattern does not fit the predrilled tow bumper on my G.M. flatbed built by ABC. But a little rework will fix the problem.

Working great!! Direct replacement for the original. I did not remove the cord of travel trailer and pulled the original plug completely out of the truck bed. This one was all plug and play.

Installed and tested and seems to work perfectly. To be perfectly honest, my vehicle was NOT on the list of those that this part will fit. But I saw on another post elsewhere that someone had had success with this and I thought it was worth the gamble. I just installed this myself in about 20 minutes, thanks to a YouTube video. The dealer is quoting 70 bucks for this part plus installation which I heard can be as much as $200 more. I just did it myself in 20 minutes for $18. Thank you so much. Check out my pics.

High-five on the install, Coach! I'm glad that even though it wasn't on the list that you were still able to get everything installed smoothly :)

Madison did a great job helping me when the part i originally ordered was not available. She got another part on the way asap. I always enjoy working with etrailer and their representatives!

Volkswagen

For some reason, my Chattanooga built Volkswagen Atlas has an oddball (to us Americans) factory connector. This adaptor fits perfectly and looks like what VW should have installed in the beginning.

  • Correct Pin Out for Truck and Trailer 7-Way Blade Connectors
Attached are some photos of the typical wiring functions for truck and trailer 7-Way blade connectors, like parts # PK11893 and # PK12706. If you typical pull a trailer that has a 7-Way connector then you want to follow the pin out diagrams I mentioned. If the chippers that you tow have a different configuration then the Hopkins Adapter # HM47535 will likely do the trick because you can change it so that the center pin is either related to the electric brakes or the 12V power. If you...

  • Interior Trailer Lights are Not Working but All Exterior Lights Do Work
You will need to determine what circuit the lights on your trailer are connected to. If the lights are hooked up to either the 12-volt circuit on the 7-Way or the auxiliary power circuit, then it could just be a matter of making that function active on the vehicle side. If the lights go first to a trailer mounted battery, make sure the battery has a charge and that the power wire and grounds are intact. They can also be tied into the running light circuit so you would check it as well. To...

  • Turn Signals but No Brake Lights on Trailer tail Lights
Any time a trailer has turn signals that work but not the brake lights it can be an interesting situation. This is because the brake lights and turn signals on trailer tail lights are on the same circuit. In this situation it is almost always a bad ground connection. Ground problems normally show up when there is more draw on a system such as when you have the running lights on and then use another function like a turn signal or brake light. Make sure that the vehicle side and trailer...

  • Left Turn Signal On 7-Way Trailer Connector is Not Working
It is possible that there is a blown fuse or relay related to the tow package wiring that is causing the problem. Use the vehicle owner's manual to find the locations. It is also possible that there is a break in the wire somewhere. You will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 if needed to test the wire as you work your way forward on the truck. If the right side stop light also does not work, it could be a blown stop light or CHMSL fuse. If the turn signal function works on...

The in-bed trailer wiring connector your 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 would have would be a 7-way like the part # PK11893 that you referenced. I attached a picture that has a standard 7-way wiring diagram for you to check out.

  • Replacement 7-Way Trailer Socket for 2006 Toyota Tundra
If your 2006 Toyota Tundra had a factory-installed 7-way trailer socket that needs replacement I recommend the Hopkins Multi-Tow 7-Way Blade and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM43385. This plugs in to the factory wiring using two connectors; the mating connectors on the Hopkins part are shown in the linked photo. If your truck instead happens to have a round U.S. Car Connector at the rear bumper then I suggest instead Pollak part # PK11893 which will plug in to that connector.

  • Can You Get Third Brake Light and 12 Volt Power For Camper Shell From 7-Way Trailer Connector
On a 7-Way trailer connector, the brake lights and turn signals are combined on the same circuit so you cannot tap into the wiring there for a third brake light. If you did, the third brake light would blink with the turn signal. Normally if you follow the wiring harness back (towards the front of the vehicle) you may find additional wires that you can test with a circuit tester like # PTW2979 if needed to see if there is a third brake light wire there. You can also use the stop light...

  • Trailer Running Lights Not Working When Using a 7-Way to 4-Way Adapter
It sounds like you have a 7-Way and are using a 7 to 4-Way adapter because the trailer has a 4-Way flat. If the running lights are not working with this set up, the first thing you will want to do is use a circuit tester, like # PTW2993 if needed, and test the vehicle side connector with no adapter installed in it. If the running light circuit is not working at the connector, you know there is a problem on the vehicle side, and you will need to trace the wiring from the trailer connector...

There is a bundle of wires under the brake pedal of your 2012 Chevy Silverado that will have an orange wire that should be used to power the third brake light of the camper shell. I have also read that the light blue wire under the rear of your vehicle in the harness near the trailer connector will also work, but I would recommend you use a circuit tester like our # PTW2993 to make sure that this wire only sees voltage when the brakes are applied and none when the blinkers are on without...

  • Will The Pollak 7-Pole Connector PK11893 Work On 2000 Ford Expedition?
Hello Scott, thanks for reaching out. The Pollak Replacement 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Socket # PK11893 connects to a standard USCAR connector. So it can absolutely be used on a 2000 Ford Expedition, so long as the vehicle is pre-wired with a USCAR connector. If your Expedition came with a factory 7-way plug, it will already have the USCAR connector behind the bumper, so the # PK11893 can easily be plugged in. Does your Expedition have any kind of factory trailer connector? Reply...

  • 7-Way Trailer Wiring Connector for Bed of 2016 GMC Sierra 3500
Sounds you are referring to 7-way wiring ran to the very rear of the truck near the bumper. So what you would need to install a 7-way in the bed of the truck is the 5th wheel 7-way wiring kit part # 50-97-410. This plugs inline to that connector and gives you a harness and 7-way that will reach up to the wheel well. I attached an install video for this kit on a 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 just like yours as well.

  • Does Custer 7-Way Round to 7-Way Blade Adapter Have Signal Converter in It
Hey Shawn, this is a great question but no the Custer 7-way round to 7-way blade adapter does not have a converter in it so that the separate signal circuits are combined. Basically this adapter is designed to just convert the styles of 7-way but not actually go from the semi truck style to RV style of wiring. To convert the signals you would need an converter like the part # RM-732 which you could splice into this adapter if you wanted. Sometimes in situations like this you can wire...

  • Trailer Running Lamp Circuit of 2018 Chevy 2500 Not Working At Trailer Connector
Lets begin with the non-functional trailer running lamp circuit. I'd suspect a fuse in the engine compartment fuse block in location # 15. Replace the fuse but before plugging the trailer back in, you'll want to closely examine the running lamp circuit on the trailer and its trailer connector to locate the short and repair it or you continually blow fuses. This could be an intermittent problem caused by a loose connection or some cracked or worn wire insulation on the wire in the running...

Hey Robert, it sounds like you might be looking for a replacement USCAR connector like the part # 20147 which is the connector that a 7-way would plug into. This would work as a way to hardwire in a replacement but if you wanted something that utilized Ford connectors you would need to contact a Ford dealer. If instead you were just looking for a replacement 7-way socket you would want the part # PK11893.

  • Troubleshooting Right Side Trailer Lights Not Working, Left Side Working Correctly
Most trailer wiring problems are the result of a bad ground. What I would do is start with the connectors. Maker sure the connectors on both the trailer side and vehicle side are free of dirt and corrosion and that they are properly grounded. Next, I would move on to testing the vehicle side connector using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. Since the right side is not working, you will want to test the pins of the connector for right turn and brake. If looking at the face of the connector,...

  • Trailer Left Turn Signal Pin has No Power on a 2003 Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra Diesel
It could just be a tow package fuse blown on your truck. There is one for trailer left turn signal and brake light in the fuse box in the cab between the dash and driver's side door. It is labeled LT TRLR ST/TRN. You would not be able to tap into the trucks turn signal because your 2003 Chevy or GMC truck has separate turn signals and brake lights whereas the trailer connector and trailer use combined brake lights and turn signals on the same circuit.

  • 7-Way Trailer Connector Recommendation for a 2016 Nissan Frontier
The only way to order a 7-way for your 2016 Nissan Frontier is to go with the part # C56226 which includes the jumper harness and relays. The good news is that you would have spares in case you were to damage a relay. If you happen to already have the round connector at the rear of your vehicle that just a 7-way connector would plug into you could use the part # PK11893 to plug right into that. But we do not have just the harness that would before that on the vehicle wiring.

The reverse light pin on a traditional 7-way trailer connector, like part # PK11893 or a factory connector if that's what you have on your 2018 Ram, is the center pin. Take a look at the picture I attached that shows all the pin functions. To add a light that runs off your truck's reverse light circuit you can tap into the trailer wiring going into the center pin on the connector or directly into the reverse lights on the back of the truck. Either will work for you.
