Question:

Is it true you can put a trailer hitch on a 2019 Mini Countryman? I would love to do that in order to carry bike racks. I really don't want to put a trunk-mounted rack on my car! Thanks so much!

It is true! There are actually a pair of trailer hitches that will fit your 2019 Mini Countryman, the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11522 and the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch # 306-X7387, so long as your '19 Countryman is not the John Cooper Works model.

Of the two I recommend the EcoHitch because it has a 2 inch receiver which means it is going to be compatible with many more styles of bike racks than the 1-1/4 inch Class I Curt hitch. Additionally, you will only be able to use a Class I bike rack and carry two bikes with the Curt hitch, and you will also need to use Stabilizing Straps # 18050 with this hitch. The EcoHitch does not have those restrictions which means you can still carry three or four bikes with a bike rack such as the Saris Freedom 4 Bike Platform Rack # SA4414B.

There are still fantastic options for a bike rack that can be used with a Class I hitch such as the Yakima HoldUp EVO # Y02480 or the premier bike rack in the industry, the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202, but it is limiting in regards to carrying any more than two bikes.
