Troubleshooting Electric Trailer Tongue Jack

Question:
I purchased Electric Jack w/ Footplate - A-Frame - 25-1/8inch Lift - 3.5K - Black, I just installed it. It worked for about 30 seconds and then nothing, no light nada. I checked voltage before and after the fuse, all good. Then, after a few minutes it worked again for 10 seconds and stopped again. What am I missing here?

If your new Electric Jack # EJ-3520-BBX works for a few seconds and then stops (but then works again after a time), and you have verified that full 12V power is passing through the fuse this tends to suggest an intermittent connection problem in the wiring or switch. Since the LED light, which needs only a tiny amount of power to work, does not function either this suggests a complete power interruption.
The troubleshooting step I can recommend is to unbolt the jack and sand off the bottom of the jack mounting flange to remove all paint and expose clean bare metal. Do the same thing on the trailer's jack mounting point. Re-attach the jack and try it again. If improving the ground connection in this manner does not fix the problem then the unit may require warranty replacement.
