Why Does My Trailer Jack Not Work When Off Shore Power

I have a 2013 Lance 2285 camper. The electric tongue jack works when the camper is plugged into shore power but when the camper is disconnected from the 110v power the tongue jack does not work. The batteries are new and fully charged. Why does it not work with the 12v battery’s. The slide out and 12 volt lights work fine

George, I suggest checking to make sure that the 12v pin on your 7-way is actually receiving 12v. The reason your jack is not working off shore power could be caused by a bad connection in your 7-way.

This pin should be located at the 1 o'clock position, and you can use a circuit tester # PTW2993 to check the continuity. If there is no power here, then that would explain why the jack is not working.

If you're using a trailer mounted battery instead, then it's possible the jack blew a fuse to protect the 12v power.

@GeorgeB That makes me think that the 7-way is either not putting out any power, or not enough power.
