Replacement Arm Parts for Demco Commander Tow Bar

Question:

Drove the rig the first time yesterday. Drove to the back side of the Salton Sea and the tow bar disengaged from the passenger side of the towed vehicle 2011 Honda CR V. I was not traveling more than 25 because of the condition of the road. I caught the following car without damaging anything other than my nerves. Reattached the connector 1/4 turn lock, verified everything was in where it was supposed to be, and continued. After about 100 yards the situation repeated itself. After the third disengagement I turned around and tried to just get off that road. After the fourth disengagement I took everything apart and inspected each part. I could not find a problem so reassembled everything. In trying to get back out I inadvertently tried to increase my speed to 30 mph. The resulting collision when the equipment disengaged was sufficient to have to leave the Honda until repairs can be carried out. The hitch has a bent arm and 2 bad universal joints that I can not repair, what do I do?

If you have the Demco Commander Non-Binding Tow Bar then you will want the Replacement Connecting Clevis for Demco Commander Tow Bar # DM13582-81, Bolt # DM1372-95, Nut # DM02595 and washers # DM03809.

Then for the bent arm you will want the Replacement Inner Arm Connecting Shaft for Demco Commander Tow Bar - Qty 1 # DM15713. If the square portion was bent then you will want # DM13577-92 for the left side with the storage rod for your electrical cord or # DM13578-92 for the right side which doesn't have the storage.

I confirmed this with my contact at Demco who says they rarely get contacted for these parts.
