Question:

Hitch C13388 for a sprinter 3500 states does not fit models with a 30-3/8inch frameinch - what size frame does it fit?

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13388 is a confirmed fit for your 2012 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. The reason the hitch does not fit models with 30-3/8" frame, measured outside to outside of frame is because the normal frame on the Sprinter is wider. To confirm the fit on your Sprinter, you can measure the 35-1/2 inches from the frame hole center to center where this hitch mounts. I've attached a photo to assist.

This is still confusing. I have a 2008 3500 144" standard bumper. Website states that it will fit, but not on 30 3/8" frames measured outside to outside. This is what my frame measures from outside to outside. there are 4 holes on the frame not three and that extra tab with the hole- it's non existent on my van. Is there a hitch for the 30 3/8 framed vehicles? The hitch mounts on the inside of the frame, so i don't understand why in this answer are you giving that center bolt measurement. Why on the website do you give the outside to outside measurement? Why not talk about the same measurements - inside to inside van frame where the hitch mounts? What 2 sizes frames did sprinter use? why don't you just provide measurements for the actual hitch?

The hitches we have available for your Sprinter just aren't designed to fit the narrower 30-3/8" frame width. I wish there was a custom option that would work but the best solution we have is a universal type hitch like the Curt # C13701.
