Plate Thickness Compatibility with Recessed Trailer Light Grommet

Question:
What is the thickest plate that these lights will mount in? Will they work in 3/8inch steel plate? Thank you

The Optronics Fleet LED Trailer Tail Lights w/ Grommets # TLL12RK has grommets that are 1-1/8 inches deep. The plate dimension if you want to use the integrated lip on the grommet is 3/16 inch and if not is up to 1/2 inch. I went out to our warehouse to measure this for you.
