Can I run the velit AC run while I’m on the road in camper van? I can use the alternator to charge batteries?

Nick, absolutely. Many vanlifers wire the Velit 2000R 12V AC Unit # VE87QV so it runs while the alternator tops off the batteries. It keeps the living space cool while driving long stretches, and when you park, your bank’s already partly replenished.
Do you have a DC-to-DC charger in place yet? That’s the key link for charging safely off your alternator. I'd go with Dometic PerfectPower Battery Charger - DC to DC - 12V - 10 Amp # GP95QR if you don't have one yet.
