I have the DM14040-81 and I need a lock for it where I can use my OWN padlock.

I do have a way for you to lock the Demco Trailer Coupler part # DM14040-81 but I am not aware of any device that will allow you to lock it using your own padlock. The only way I am aware that the trailer coupler can be locked is with a pin style lock like part # e98888 which can be keyed alike if you have other trailers or a wraparound style lock like part # FA86-0015-318 which can also be keyed alike if you have other trailers. Take a look at the video to see this lock and how to get keyed alike locks.
I wish I had better news for you.
