Question:
Hi, I just bought a Curt Venturer Brake Controller for my Chevy Silverado 2007 with a tow package and was told by friends that I could buy a brake controller and just pluck it in and not have to do any wiring. My controller had an extra wire that I paid for and it plugs into my brake controller but the other end just has wires and no plug in. My box under the dash has empty outlets where it looks like I could plug my brake controller into but it wont seem to fit, plug looks like the wire is too short. Do you make a wire that will plug into my brake controller then plug the other end into the box?? Please let me know asap with the model number, maybe I goofed and ordered the wrong one. Thanks

It sounds like you have the correct harness for your Curt Venturer Brake Controller # C74VV and your 2007 Chevy Silverado, which is the Wiring Adapter Harness # C51515.
This particular harness does feature a plug on one end that connects to the brake controller itself but as you mentioned the other end features bare wires. This is because the 2007 Chevy Silverado should have bare brake controller wiring, not a plug, under the dash that these wires will connect to. It's possible that the outlet/plug you located on your truck is not for a brake controller installation but is used for a different purpose.
The factory brake controller wiring on your Silverado will be found behind the brake pedal just to the driver side held in place by some white tape. The tape itself should have the function for each of the wires listed.
On the Curt Harness the red wire goes to the brake switch/input, the blue wire is for brake output to the 7-Way, the black wire is for 12V power, and the white wire is for ground. You may also need to make some final connections under the hood inside the fuse box. I have attached a great FAQ on this process that you can take a look at.
