Question:

We need a flat plug wiring harness for our T250 so we can use our cargo carrier that has lights. The van has no factory trailer wiring now.

I recommend the Curt T-Connector 4-Pole Flat Wiring Kit # C56327 for your 2018 Ford Transit T250 because we have found their wiring products to be very reliable. This harness installs by plugging in at the T250's tail light housings and by running one wire up to the engine compartment for a power connection at the battery. The plugs on the harness simply get sandwiched in between the light and the OEM wiring, as shown in the linked diagram.

I have linked a video and a helpful article to assist you with your installation. The video shows a 2015 Transit T250 but your install will be the same. The article will help you with the routing of the power wire. Since your vehicle is longer than most you may need some extra wire # 10-1-1 and butt connectors # 05732-2 to make the run up to the engine compartment. Some extra wire will give you more options for routing it.

This 4-pole flat type of wiring carries basic lighting signals. It will deliver stop, turn and tail light power to the lights on your cargo carrier, such as the LED Light Kit # 98174LED that fits hitch carrier # 63153. I recommend using dielectric grease # 11755 on all wiring harness and light connections to help reduce the risk of corrosion.
