Question:

Hi, I have an ice castle fish house that I am looking for an equalizer hitch for it weighs 8800lbs. Can you please recommend a hitch that will work for this application. Please see the attached picture.

The only thing that could potentially work with the pole tongue on your Ice Castle fish house is the Reese Pole-Tongue Adapter with a weight distribution (WD) system like the Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66561 which has a tongue weight range of 700 lbs - 1,400 lbs. As long as your loaded weight is 8,800 lbs and your loaded tongue weight is within the recommended 10-15% tongue weight range then you just need to confirm with the manufacturer that this is okay to use for your application.

The tallest part of the pole-tongue adapter is 3-3/8" tall (see attached picture) which will play a factor in the fitment.

The tongue weight range of a weight distribution system also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle so you need to add that to the loaded tongue weight and make sure the total falls in the weight range of the Steadi-Flex.

To complete this towing setup you also need a hitch ball like the 2" # A-90 or the 2-5/16" # 19286.
