Features to know about

Add More Capability with a 2" Class III Hitch Receiver

This hitch gives you that solid 2" x 2" receiver opening that works with most bike racks, cargo carriers, and ball mounts. With a Class III rating, it’s ready for light towing or extra gear when you need it. It’s rated for 2,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 200 lbs maximum tongue weight, giving you the capacity to haul small trailers or mount racks with confidence.

No Welding Needed: Bolt-On Install with Included Hardware

You can get this hitch on your vehicle without welding or complicated tools. The fully welded hitch bolts right to the frame using the included hardware kit, so you can handle the install in a driveway with basic tools. Precision, robotic welding ensures everything lines up cleanly and fits where it should from the start.

Built to Last Through Weather and Road Grime

The sturdy square-tube steel construction is finished with a gloss black powder coat over a protective base coat for superior rust resistance. It stands up to water, salt, and debris from daily driving and long trips alike. That durable finish helps the hitch keep its look while staying corrosion resistant over time.

Ready for Towing or Accessory Use

Whether you’re hauling a small trailer or adding a rack for gear, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver – Custom Fit – Class III – 2" keeps things versatile. The 5/8" pin hole works with standard pins and clips (sold separately), so you can quickly swap between accessories as needed.

This was exactly what I wanted and was so easy to install on my 2022 Kona

by:

I was originally sent the wrong hitch. A quick call to customer service fixed that issue. They sent me the correct hitch within a few days and made the process of sending the other one back simple. Install was extremely easy and the provided installation guide made things that much easier. We were able to take our small popup camper out and enjoy the first camp of the year. Needless to say, everything went off without a HITCH! (solid dad joke)

I am glad it all worked out for you! Haha we love a good dad joke on the team. Why did the bicycle fall over at the campsite?

by:

Installation was troublesome, but their support gave me great tips to complete it.

Installed it on a '21 Kona Electric. Very heavy duty. Using it to carry bikes and a light trailer short distances to the hardware store.

When you buy a hitch for this reciever, buy a tall one bc it is closer to the ground, a little closer than I expected. A 1 riser isnt enough, choose something taller, maybe a 3.5 option. Im towing a Brenderup 1205S with 13 tires.

This worked perfectly for my 2021 Kona Limited. It is a little tricky to install, but I was able to use the instructions that came with it to figure it out. Overall it probably took 1-2 hours. It was helpful to have a second person to help lift and hold it in place, otherwise I would try to use some blocks or jacks to help hold it up while positioning and feeding the fishwire through. One tip I will give is that once the carriage bolts are fed through both the frame tube and the plate on this receiver, I used another piece of wire to hold tension on the bolt while spinning the nut on. If you don't hold this the bolt could potentially be pushed back inside the frame tube and would be very difficult to fish back out. Overall it came quickly and had all the parts and instructions, and it wasn't too bad of an install! It works great to haul my bikes around!

For most people, I'd recommend against putting a trailer hitch on a Kona. The hitch was fine if a bit tricky to install, but all of the trailer hitch noise seems to be transmitted directly into the cabin. I'm not exaggerating. I actually turn around to look and see if I had forgotten to close the hatch. The hitch is quite low, so you will probably have to take Hey 5 inch or more drop draw bar and turn it upside down to get your trailer level. I also started periodically getting an alert that the rear collision warning radar was blocked. It works okay in a pinch, but most Konas sold in the USA say not recommended for towing, so you total trailer weight should be car payload minus the weight of passengers and cargo in the cabin and on top if equipped with a rack. Payload on mine is 1069 pounds, At 260 pounds myself with a few tools in the rear and the weight of the trailer itself I can only put a couple hundred pounds on the trailer. With multiple passengers putting anything on the trailer would overload the vehicle. It would probably do it. Personally I would recommend against towing, and definitely recommend against if you have a model with a CVT. In the end you have to make your own decision, but I probably won't pull a trailer with mine again if there is any other option available.

  • What Trailer Hitch Fits 2023 Hyundai Kona Limited
Hi Natalie, Definitely smart to check, and the correct trailer hitch for your 2023 Hyundai Kona Limited is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C87DR. I went ahead and double-checked with the manufacturer for you just to make sure.

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2022 Hyundai Kona N Line
Hey Scott! For your 2022 Hyundai Kona N Line I recommend the Curt # C87DR (1-1/4" receiver) or # C98QV (2" receiver). What are you using the hitch for? Since the Class III with a 2" is available I would choose that over the 1-1/4" Class I because it gives you more options for accessories like a bike rack. Both feature a bolt-on installation, concealed cross tube for a clean look, and a limited lifetime warranty.

  • Best Single Bike Rack To Go On 2018 Hyundai Kona
Hello Jody, I can definitely help with that! Does your 2018 Hyundai Kona already have a trailer hitch on it? If so, is it a 1-1/4" receiver, or a 2" receiver? Both options are available for the Kona, so please confirm what you have. If you do not have a hitch, the Curt Class 3 Hitch # C98QV is what I recommend. It has a 2" receiver. Now on to the bike rack. For a 2" hitch, what I recommend is the Benton Single Bike Rack # B54VR. It can hold virtually any bike weighing less than 80 lbs....

  • Recommended hitch receiver for RockyMount MonoRail Bike Rack
Thanks for reaching out Hiram, that's a sweet bike! Yes, you can use the Curt hitch receiver # c11529 with the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo # RKY10007. The RockyMount MonoRail works with a 1 1/4" and 2" hitch which is a direct fit to the Curt hitch receivers 1 1/4" opening. I would add that if you plan on using your hitch for more than the MonoRail (more bikes, cargo carrier, trailer) the Curt trailer hitch with 2" receiver # C98QV would give you more versatility. Where do you ride your...

  • E-Bike Rack Recommendation for 2020 Hyundai Kona
Hey Ryan, the Hollywood Racks E-Bike rack part # HLY84FR that you referenced would work great on your 2020 Hyundai Kona but you would need to have a hitch installed first like the Curt # C98QV. If you were wanting a really nice e-bike rack though I would instead recommend the Thule EasyFold # TH903202 instead. This is overall a really high quality rack but what I like about it is that it has a ramp that pulls out to make loading and unloading as easy as possible.
